Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are work based learning programmes that are available in a wide range of career areas.

They give you the opportunity to:

  • learn new skills
  • work towards nationally recognised qualifications such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)
  • earn money
  • gain work experience

To undertake an apprenticeship, you will need an employer, who is willing to support your apprenticeship. To search the current vacancies for apprenticeships, please click on the link to the Apprenticeship Vacancy Matching Service database below.

If you are not able to find an employer, a programme-led apprenticeship may be an option. To search for a programme-led apprenticeship, please click on the link to search the County Durham 14-19 Area Wide Prospectus below.
